HALLOWEEN CONTESTS 2021

The English Department in co-operation with the Head of Studies has organised the following contests for the whole Educational community:

  • A Halloween costume design contest:

  • A pumpkin contest:

All the works, made by the participants, have been exhibited in the school foyer and everybody could vote online choosing their favourites.

I would like to congratulate all the participants for the quality of the work they presented and for the colour they brought to the school.

However, I would like to point out that I feel very proud of my students in the Bilingual Section, all of them did their best in order to take part in the contest. They know very well that it is a way to make their English teacher happy. Due to their high participation, I decided to organized a mini contest for all my students.

Here are the works they have submitted to the competition and there is also a link for you to vote for your favourites :

CHARLIE: our new English assistant

Last Tuesday the 19th we met our new English assistant Charles, but we can call him Charlie. It was a different but very entertaining class. Charlie told us about his family, city, cultural aspects and much more. After his presentation, the students were able not only to ask questions, but also to make a series of recommendations to make his stay in Don Benito more pleasant.

With his consent, the lesson was recorded so that the students can use it as a model for their Speaking exam this term. Depending on the aspects Charlie was describing to us, his talk was divided into three different videos.

We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we did:

First video: about his state, city & other places.

Second video: about him, family & friends.

Third video: any questions?

PROJECT 2: INTERNATIONAL DAY OF LANGUAGES 2021

The European Day of Languages is celebrated on September 26th at the initiative of the European Council in Strasbourg.

The lack of language skills is a burden for many people, for this reason, from the English Department, we wanted to raise awareness among our students of the importance of learning new languages.

Students from 1st to 4th ESO have translated into several languages Federico Felini's quote: "To learn a new language is to learn a new vision of life" in addition to choosing their favourite word to translate it into different languages.

In the following video, we present the contribution of my group 2ºA/B Bilingual Section and our favourite word was PANDEMIC.

PROJECT 1: ENGLISH LETTERS

Let's start this new school year decorating our English Corner. The letters of the word ENGLISH were distributed among the 22 students of the 2ºESO Bilingual Section. Once I got all the letters, a presentation was prepared so that the students could see all the works and vote for their favourite letter.

Here you can see the excellent job done by the students and the winners. Everyone will get a sticker for their album.
